Is Raising Chickens Worth It?
We have had chickens for about a year now, and I would say that once you get past the startup costs and the smell, owning chickens can be a real bonus, especially for those of us who love fresh eggs.
It has also been a great experience for the kids. Watching the chicks grow from tiny babies into full-grown hens has been rewarding. We now get about five eggs every day, and at this point, it feels like they have already paid for the original license fee we had to get in our town.
