It seems like a cool idea until you think of the implications.  A waiter who never grows tired and is constantly at your becon call.  He wants nothing more than to bring you what you want, and only costs $6000.  China is now employing robot waiters.

According to  Singularity Hub, a restaurant called The Dalu Robot Restaurant, has 6 robots who service tables and a couple "more feminine" robots who greet people at the door.  They still have humans cooking the food and washing the dishes, but the robots do the serving.

My thought about these robots is that there are still humans who are willing and able to fill those jobs.  I hope the robotic waiters stay in China and Japan.  I prefer to talk to the person who's bringing me food so that I can say thank you.  What do you think?  Would you rather have a robot bring you your food?
