Conserve Water WARNING For These Counties In New York State
There is a massive push to conserve water in some portions of New York State as the drought conditions have gone from bad, to worse.
The winter weather seems to be holding off here in New York. By now, many portions of the state would have seen snow, or at the very least, heavy rains. But there are places in the Empire State that are in serious need of some sort of precipitation.
The forecast is calling for another warm day as we close in on Election Day. Will it rain anytime soon?

But as we get to the first full week of November, there is a new call to conserve water in multiple counties in New York State.
According to reports, New York's Department of Environmental Conservation says 15 counties, including Ulster, Greene, Dutchess and Sullivan are under a drought watch until further notice.
On it's website, the NYSDEC notes the following:
To protect water resources, homeowners in regions under drought watch are encouraged to voluntarily reduce outdoor water use and follow these tips:
-Water lawns only when necessary, choose watering methods that avoid waste, and water in the early morning to reduce evaporation and maximize soil hydration;
-Reuse water collected in rain barrels, dehumidifiers, or air conditioners to water plants;
-Raise lawn mower cutting heights. Longer grass is healthier with stronger roots and needs less water;
-Use a broom, not a hose, to clean driveways and sidewalks; and
-Fix leaking pipes, hoses, and faucets.
Be smart, and safe when using water or working around dry areas! This week looks mainly dry again for these regions of the state.
