Discovery Channel Is Featuring A Western New York Town
It's always exciting when somewhere that you are familiar with makes it to a national TV show. That's happening soon for a town here in Western New York.
The Discovery Channel is going to feature Western New York...again
Misty Wells is an outdoor enthusiast from Florida who has her own show called "Let's Take It Outside." It focuses on fishing, hunting, surfing, paddleboarding, biking, riding, deer, and more. She came to Niagara County in 2023 and that show aired in August of 2024.
Because she loved it so much her first time, she decided to come back again this year for another episode of her show.
Wells did some fishing and some eating
Wells spent time here in Western New York from May 20-24, according to WNYPapers.com, and with the help of Destination Niagara USA, she made the most of her experience. Not only did she catch her first salmon on Lake Ontario, but she also caught her first steelhead in the Lower Niagara River.
She seemed to love her time here:
"There is so much to do. Not only is the fishing world-class, the hiking and biking is amazing, and the scenery isn’t so bad, either. It is one of my truly favorite places to visit and film. I look forward to it every year.” - Misty Wells
She also got to eat! That's kind of what we like to do here in Western New York. She was able to check out restaurants like Vern’s in Wilson, Hill of Beans in Youngstown, Brickyard Brewing Company and Apple Granny Restaurant in Lewiston, Webster’s Bistro in North Tonawanda, and Craft Kitchen and Bar in Niagara Falls.
They did not give the exact date of the airing of the special but said that we could expect to see it in the fall of 2025.
