Disinfectant Wipes Shortage Expected To Last Into 2021

Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March (here in the United States), it's no secret that disinfectant wipes and sprays have been hard to come by in 2020.

Now that people are getting back to work and many kids will be going back to school, that could mean even more of a demand of those cleaning products.

According to WKBW, Clorox is expecting the high demand for disinfectants to last into next year.

"Given the fact that cold and flu sits in the middle of the year, and then we expect the pandemic to be with us for the entirety of the year, it will take the full year to get up to the supply levels that we need to be at," Clorox President and CEO-elect Linda Rendle said Monday in a call with analysts to discuss the company's earnings.

Clorox says sales are up eight percent for the fiscal year, which runs July 2019 through June 2020.

It's still pretty hard to find disinfectant wipes and sprays. I think you have to be lucky sometimes when going to the store, even with a one-per-customer limit.
