A new bill that has been proposed in Connecticut could save you a ton of time and change the way that you watch movies in New York.

Tired of movies saying that they're going to start at a certain time, then after you get through commercials and trailers, the movie actually starts about a half hour later than they said it would?  That could be changing soon.

It's currently a bill in Connecticut that has been filed by Sen. Martin Looney, D-New Haven.  The bill would require movie theater listings to "include, and separately list, the scheduled start time for the movie trailers and advertisements that precede the advertised or listed movie, and the advertised or listed movie.”  In other words, you would know when the trailers and advertisements would start, then you'd have a separate time that the actual movies would start.

6 Things That Would Make Movie Theaters In New York Better

This would allow you to spend that extra half hour eating dinner or finishing that cocktail that you ordered, without worrying that you're going to miss the entire setup to the movie.  You would know exactly when it was going to start.

I used to love grabbing a huge tub of popcorn and getting into the theater as quickly as I could.  They would do trivia and I loved it.  There was just something about being there.  These days though, it's hard to compete with the ability to watch new movies right from your couch.  You can make your own popcorn that doesn't cost $18 and drink as many drinks as you want without having to worry about going far to hit up a bathroom.

As of right now, there isn't a bill to match this one for New York State, but it doesn't feel like it would be far down the road.
