Father Joe Bayne Leaving Western New York
It's a bitter sweet week for those who know Father Joe Bayne.
It was announced earlier this year that the Franciscan Center would be closing. Father Joe Bayne has been a major part of helping homeless men get back on their feet at the center and wil now be taking on a new assignment outside of New York State.
Father Joe has also been a major part in the local firefighter community as Chaplain of Emergency Services in Erie County and Buffalo Fire.
Father Joe is one of the best people I have ever met. He is normally giving the blessing before the installation dinners that I host and has always been so funny and sincere when he speaks to the firefighters and guests.
On a personal note, I want to thank Father Joe for attending my father in law's wake and funeral. Father Joe took the the to speak to our family and offer some comfort when we weer having a hard time. Just like he does almost daily around Western New York.
According to a post on Facebook, there is a going a way party later today. It all starts at 6pm in Bowmansville.
Fr. Joe Bayne has played such a large role in the lives of so many in the Emergency Services Family. Please come out to show your appreciation and wish him well as he moves on to his new assignment. Tickets are $10.00
