Flu Shot Doesn’t Match Main Influenza Strain, Kids At Risk
It's that time of the year where kids (and probably you) are getting sick and this season seems to be one of the worst in recent memory. The Center of Disease and Prevention has reported that 32 child deaths have occurred this season.
Children are at the most risk this season. Kids are most susceptible to the strain called influenza B-Victoria.
According to data released last week if your child is exposed to B-victoria, there’s a 54% chance that their flu shot will be well matched to protect against it. The vaccine is a really good match for the strain H1-N1", according to WIVB.
