Free Musical Happy Hour Coming Back To Buffalo
Remember how great Thursday in the Square used to be back in the day? Good news...they're trying to revive that type of event.
What was Thursday in the Square?
Thursday in the Square used to be a weekly summer event that was held in Lafayette Square. It was held by Buffalo Place and people loved it. People would pack into the square as they would bring in some national acts for free concerts. It was perfect for people who worked downtown because they could enjoy the event right after getting out of work. It would start around 5 and go until around 9. There were drinks and food for sale also.
Why don't they hold Thursday in the Square anymore?
Thursday in the Square originally started as Thursday & Main. It was held at Fountain Plaza at Main & Chippewa but ended up being moved to Lafayette Square after it got too big to stay there.
After a few years of success in Lafayette Square, it was moved once again to Canalside.
Thursday & Main is coming back
Buffalo Place just announced that they will be bringing Thursday & Main back to Fountain Plaza starting in June. They've got a full lineup for the summer and will be bringing in food trucks and some breweries to really give it that "happy hour" feel. The music will start at 5pm and go until around 8pm.
