In 2009 Jackson enlisted in Active Duty in the U.S. Army and shortly after he was sent to, Fort Benning GA. In May, 2010 Jackson deployed to Nangahar, Province Afghanistan with First Brigade Combat Team 101ST Airborne (1BCT) as a RTO. Jackson insured proper communications between all echelons of command from ground elements to get all required support needed for mission success. He also took part in being a member of the personal security detachment for the command group. During that year long deployment he received a battlefield promotion to Specialist. At the beginning of May of 2011 he returned back to Fort Campbell, KY and began to retrain for deployment in 2012.
