The commute this weekend over Grand Island will have some delays due to construction closing down a portion of the 190 North. Shopping at the outlets? Headed to Canada or Niagara Falls? This could add a few minutes to your drive.

According to the NYS Thurway Authority:

Northbound traffic on the North Grand Island Bridge is going to be routed onto the southbound span. All north traffic on I-190 will be funneled into one lane Friday night until Monday morning. The project has been planned for months and total costs will be around $ 8 million.

Overall, the project includes partial-depth repairs to the concrete deck, partial-depth concrete fascia repairs, removal of existing joints and installation of new joints and pouring a new polyester concrete overlay on the bridge deck.
