Hazardous Waste Collection For Western New York Residents
For those in Western New York who have started spring cleaning around the house, you might be wondering where you can take things you can't throw in the regular trash.
The weather has gotten better and people are picking up sticks and leaves and other trash around their properties. Here in the Buffalo area, we dealt with a long and cold winter. For those who spent the winter doing projects around the house, like painting, you might have empty paint cans or left over materials.
Before you throw them away, you should know that Erie County has a way for you to safely get rid of them.

It's amazing how many old and left over paints and pesticides that we have found this spring at our home. Overtime, things just get piled up and this is a perfect way to get rid of them. We have four kids and keeping this nasty stuff away from them is certainly a priority.
Niagara County Events
There are also waste collection events planned in other places in Western New York. For example, Niagara County. " In honor of Earth Day 2025, in partnership with Niagara University, our first collection event will take place on Saturday May 10 from 9am to 1pm in the Dwyer Arena parking lot".
Below are some of the small Propane bottle that you might have that can and should be recycled at one of these events.
