Everyone in Erie County wants to know when businesses will start reopening and there has been some confirmation on the outlook on when businesses can start reopening in Western New York, although Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz continues to stress it will be a while before we get back to normalcy.

According to WIVB, Poloncarz hopes Erie County can hit all seven criteria laid out by the governor to start reopening by the start of June.

If that goes as planned, Phase 1 reopenings would happen the start of June and include general construction, manufacturing and some retail with curbside pickup.

If the county has two weeks of data to show the effect of Phase 1 didn't set the region back, then Phase 2 could start, with includes law firms, service industries and other retail with social distancing guildelines.

If there are no setbacks after another two weeks, then Phase 3 can begin, which would be bars and restaurants reopening with "limited capacity," according to Polocarz.

That means, IF, Erie County starts reopening by the start of June and has no setbacks in data, local bars and restaurants could be back open by the end of June.

This means the earliest Phase 4 can begin, which would include movie theaters, museums and other recreation, would be mid-July.
