The Sabres concluded a quick two-game trip to western Canada with a 4 to 2 win over the Edmonton Oilers.  Defenseman Mike Weber scored his first two NHL goals and added an assist to lead the way while Ryan Miller picked up his 200th NHL goaltending win.

At the World Junior Hockey Championships being played in Buffalo, Team USA rolled to an easy 6 to 1 win over Slovakia while Team Canada defeated the Czech Republic 7 to 2.  Sabre prospect Zach Kassian was ejected from the game for what was deemed to be an illegal hit to the head of a Czech player who was taken from the ice on a stretcher.  Kassian likely will be suspended for at least the next game.

Next game for Canada is against Norway Wednesday night while the Americans take on Germany Thursday night.
