It was a wild story when staff had to hold down a man who just set the stables on fire at Batavia Downs.

Last week there was a man who was walking away from a stable when staff caught him letting the barn on fire. Maintenance staff from Batavia Downs called 911 when they saw smoke coming from the barn and then police said that the staff saw the man walking away and held him down until officers arrived to arrest him.

There's no word as of right now as to why he did it but the 33-year-old man is now being charged with fourth degree arson, burglary and criminal mischief. It is wild timing that it is right before the Kentucky Derby that's something like this would happen.

Is reported that no horses have any major damage and everybody is safe in the situation.

It is ironic timing because we are getting ready for the big Kentucky Derby, the most noted and popular horse race of the year.

This year, the Kentucky Derby has announced all of their horses and we are getting ready to watch the race this coming Saturday. The call to post time to start the race is just before 7 PM on Saturday.

Here is everything that you need to know for this weekend's Kentucky Derby.
