
What Actually Happened at New Highmark Stadium that Caused Fire?
People were freaking out over the weekend when someone posted a picture that the new Highmark Stadium was on fire. There is a live camera that you can watch 245/7 of the new stadium, but there was a picture that went viral from someone in their car taking a picture of the new Highmark Stadium with a massive black cloud above it.
It was on fire, but apparently it was taken care of pretty fast and efficiently. According to WKBW:
A spokesperson for Gilbane Building and Turner Construction said sparks from welding work sparked the small fire.
The fire was put out and there are not any major damages. Construction is still pace to be done by June 1st, 2026.
What is the timeline on getting the items that you buy?
Of course, the Buffalo Bills are still playing right now. Their last game playing inside the current Highmark Stadium is happening in January, but not until the Spring time will they start to distribute the items that people buy:
- FEBRUARY 2026 - items will start to be removed from the stadium and organized to distribute
- MARCH 2026 - A big auction will be happening which will also allow retail stores to sell items.
- APRIL 2026 - Fans will be able to receive
When is Highmark Stadium going to be demolished?
Officials said that in May 2026, the current Highmark Stadium is going to come down. It is going to be a spectacle and you can bet that you are going to see a lot of fans line up on the sidewalks to watch the history, literally fall. They need to knock down the stadium as soon as possible because they are using the space for parking and need to have it paved and ready to go for the end of Summer when the Buffalo Bills return from training camp.
