Spotted in NY: DO NOT Touch This Plant, You Could Go Blind
A report from weather.com will have you sit up pretty quickly because this plant could lead to serious injury. It's called Giant Hogweed plant and when it's sap combines with sunlight and moisture it can cause "severe skin and eye irritation, painful blistering, permanent scarring and even blindness."
If you think you have come into contact with this planet Weather.com says,
"Immediately wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water and keep the area away from sunlight for 48 hours, the agency recommends."
The plant has been spotted in New York but also, Virginia, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and parts of the Pacific Northwest.
