You see ceiling fans are made to keep you cool in the Summer but they are also used to keep you warm in the Winter!

In the Summer, you want to run your ceiling fan counter-clockwise to help push the air down and over you causing the cooling effect.

In the Winter, you want to run your ceiling fan in a clockwise direction. This allows the ceiling fan to pull the warm air from the top of the room (hot air rises) and forces it down to where you are, helping you keep warm.

How do you switch your ceiling fan from clockwise to counter-clockwise? Simple there is a small button on the side of the fan base. Click it in the right direction up or down to change the direction of your ceiling fan.

So now when someone complains about being too hot or too cold at your home, you can adjust the ceiling fan to help them feel comfortable.

Also, this is a good thing to tell someone who wants to keep turning up your thermostat to warm up. Tell them to make sure the ceiling fans are moving in the right direction first before they touch the thermostat.

Here are some easy steps to take to make sure your fan will keep you cool this summer and help keep you warm in the Winter.
