Buffalo Will See The Darkest Morning Of The Year This Week
As we inch closer and closer to the end of the tenth month, there is something that is becoming more apparent just about every single day, or morning.
Just in case you haven't noticed it yet this month, the amount of sunlight we have in the morning hours has been getting shorter and shorter. Early risers and kids waiting for the bus have been spending more time in the dark as the sun rises later and later each day.
Through the month of October, we've seen the sun come up between 1 and 3 minutes later every single day. On October 1st, the sun rose in Buffalo at 7:12 am and on October 31st, the sun will rise at 7:49 am, the latest time it will rise all year.

Thanks to the quirk of Daylight Saving Time and the fact that the clocks are going to Fall Back an hour, on Saturday, October 31st, the sun will rise at 7:49, and then on Sunday, November 1st, the sun will rise one hour and one minute earlier at 6:50 am.
Now, if it weren't for the biannual clock change, it would be extremely dark in the morning, with the sun rising as late as 8:46 am in December, but we can't agree to end the practice of Daylight Saving Time. Not only is it quite annoying, but people who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder will continue to have to deal with it.
For now, we only have a few more days to deal with super dark mornings and, before you know it, more sunlight will be upon us once again.
