UPDATE: Multiple FEET Of Snow Headed For New York State
The National Weather Service has updated the lake effect snow watch for portions of New York State.
Early on Wednesday, the alert was sent and reposted on the Ring/Neighborhood App and indicated that some areas would get a large amount of snow. The post reports that " there is considerable uncertainty in the exact placement and amounts, but multiple periods of heavy snow are possible".
At 04:06 on Wednesday, the report was for a foot or more of lake effect snow!
The NWS alert indicated that portions of Wyoming, Cattaraugus and Southern Erie Counties can expect snow with winds more than 30 miles per hour. Be ready from Friday through Monday for poor visibility and treacherous conditions on the roads.
Now is the time to get ready and make sure IF you are driving that you have the proper items in the car or truck you will be in. The conditions on the roads will be horrible in the persistent bands with the winds blowing at more than 30 miles per hour!
This is the case for areas that border New York State and Lake Erie.
