5 Important Games For Bills Fans In NFL Week 13

It's that time of year when it feels like every game matters in the race to the playoffs.  Who should you be watching and who should you root for this week?

Thanksgiving games are here and the NFL unfortunately set us up with some duds.  Probably the worst of them all will be the Dallas vs. New York game (4:30 pm on Fox).  Dallas is limping at 4-7 and they've lost their starting quarterback Dak Prescott.  The Giants are dead at 2-9 and their coach Brian Daboll is holding onto his job for dear life with his backup quarterback Drew Lock at the helm.  It's a classic Thanksgiving game but as Bills fans, we can just have that one on in the background as the turkey cooks.

The one we are going to want to watch on Thanksgiving is the Packers vs. Dolphins game.  That's the 8:20 pm game on NBC. Obviously, with the Dolphins in our division it's important, but this year if the Packers can pull out a win on Thanksgiving day and the Bills can pull one out against San Francisco on Sunday, they could clinch the division and a playoff spot.

4 other games that could matter this week:

1. LA Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Friday 3 pm on Amazon Prime) - It's the first ever Black Friday game.  The Raiders are 2-9 and taking on the 10-1 Chiefs.  It's unlikely that they'll be able to pull off a win but we didn't think the Panthers game would come down to a last minute kick last week.  You never know week to week.  If the Raiders can knock them off it would give the Bills a leg up to win that coveted #1 seed.

2. Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (Sunday 1pm on Fox) - Houston is still in the run for the playoffs and they have a tie breaker over the Bills.  While the Bills are a couple games ahead of Houston, there's still a lot of season left and you never want it to come down to the wire.  You might want to root for the Jags on this one.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals (Sunday 1pm on CBS) - The Steelers are the closest team to the Bills to challenge the Chiefs for that #1 seed.  I know there are a lot of Steelers fans in WNY but if you're a Bills fan, you have to root for the Bengals here.

4. Philadelphia Eagles vs. Baltimore Ravens (Sunday 4:25pm on CBS) - Aside from Houston, the Ravens are the only other team to have had the Bills' number this year so far.  We want to create space between us and them, so this week, we're rooting for the Eagles to knock Baltimore down another peg.

You root for who you want to root for, but these are the teams I'll be pulling for. The whole week 13 schedule can be seen here. Ultimately the only game that matters is the Bills vs. the 49ers.  That's the most important one to root for.  Go Bills.
