Another Winter Storm Watch Issued For Western New York

After an extended and extremely mild fall, it looks like the good times in Western and Central New York are over. The National Weather Service has issued another Winter Storm Watch for parts of the Buffalo region.

Parts of Erie County, along with northern Cattaraugus County and the vast majority of Chautauqua County, are on the verge of getting slammed with at least 3 feet of snow, with the likely possibility that it will be 4 feet or maybe more. This winter storm watch is on the heels of another watch that was issued by the NWS just a few days ago.

While the city of Buffalo and the northern areas of Western New York will receive snow, it will not be anywhere near the amount expected to fall on the southern regions of the area.

The latest predictions from the National Weather Service predict snow starting to fall during the evening hours on Thanksgiving, with the amount of snow increasing throughout the night. In addition to the amount of snow expected to fall, roads in the region will see a heavy impact as this snow will fuel Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, both of which are much warmer than normal.

It's still too early to tell exactly where the snowbands will fall, but officials are warning people to exercise caution.

By Monday, December 2nd, the region is expected to have several feet of snow with cold temperatures to match. With the snow on the way, there's no time like today to ensure you have done all of your winter preparations around the house and in your cars.
