The fourth week of the 2026/27 NFL Season saw the Buffalo Bills face the New England Patriots for the 134th time, with the hometown Bills looking to start the season 4-0. However, Drake Maye and the Patriots had different plans, as Mike Vrabel and his game plan gave Josh Allen and the Bills offense fits on their way to giving the Bills thier first loss of the season, and the first loss at the brand new Highmark Stadium.

The Patriots jumped out to an early 7-0 lead against Buffalo in the first quarter when Romeo Doubs grabbed a nice pass from Maye to shut the Bills out in the first quarter. The Bills were able to show some life in the second quarter, with both James Cook and Josh Allen able to score touchdowns on the ground, with Tyler Bass adding a field goal going into halftime.

Starting the third quarter with a 17-14 lead, Bills fans far and wide had high hopes the team would be able to take the game and continue thier dominance in the AFC; however, that wasn't the case as the Patriots were able to put up an additional 15 points to edge the Bills out in the end.

While Greg Rousseau and the Bills defense were able to put some pressure on Drake Maye, it wasn't enough to keep him from connecting with Romeo Doubs and Efton Chism to give the team the lead late into the fourth quarter.

The Bills started to drive, but a late Josh Allen interception effectively ended the game.
