After serving her local community for over 40 years from behind the anchor desk for News 4, Jacquie Walker deserves this honor.

Each year, the Erie County Agricultural Society recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the success of the Erie County Fair.

Jessica Underberg, the CEO for the Erie County Fair, jumped on a broadcast with Jacquie Walker and Don Postles to surprise Walker with the announcement.

“Today, I am proud to share that we are inducting Jacquie Walker into the Erie County Fair Hall of Fame,” Underberg said.

Walker was shocked to say the least. She reached her hand up to her eye as if she was catching a tear, clearly overcome by emotion from the recognition.

You can see the cool moment below.

Since Jacquie Walker joined the News 4 team in 1983, she has covered several stories surrounding the Erie County Fair and community events to help spread the importance of the fair. She has done so much to advocate for the fair and its importance, including the first time that Walker ever touched a cow.

“Jacquie recently retired from the anchor desk at News 4 WIVB Buffalo after serving over 40 years with the leading local news channel. She has told hundreds of thousands of stories across our community, including the stories of our beloved Erie County Fair.

Today, we are proud to share that we are inducting Jacquie Walker into the Erie County Fair Hall of Fame.”

Congratulations, Jacquie Walker! Thanks for all that you have done and continue to do for Western New York.
