Make it three straight wins for Joey Logano and a sweep of the second round of this year's Chase for the Sprint Cup.  Logano was just inches ahead of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. when the final caution ended the race during a green-white-checkered finish.

Because Earnhardt needed to win the race to advance to the next round he was one of the four drivers eliminated from any chance of winning this year's championship.  Also eliminated were Ryan Newman, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth.

Brad Keselowski finished third on Sunday with Jeff Gordon in fourth and Paul Menard completing the top five.

Logano's victory is his sixth of the season, his first at Talladega and the 14th of his career.

So heading into the Eliminator Round of the Chase, eight drivers are still in contention -

  • Joey Logano
  • Brad Keselowski
  • Jeff Gordon
  • Kyle Busch
  • Kevin Harvick
  • Kurt Busch
  • Carl Edwards
  • and Martin Truex Jr.

The season is down to the final four races.  Next week it's on to Martinsville Speedway.
