Report: Buffalo Bills on Pace to Make Big Free Agent Signing
Some may argue that the Buffalo Bills got away with one in week 6.
The Bills won a close game over the struggling and injury-depleted New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. The 14-9 score is not what Bills fans and media analysts expected before kickoff.
The offense has looked broken for two games but to the Bills credit, the defense under Sean McDermott’s play-calling has been excellent. That’s despite the injuries to key players.
Speaking of injuries, the Bills lost running back Damien Harris to a neck injury during the game on Sunday night. After a scary scene, which involved Harris getting taken off by an ambulance, we received good news on Monday.
Harris was released from the hospital and is back home resting. He suffered a neck sprain and his playing status moving forward is unknown.
It looks like Harris might be out a while because the Bills are getting ready to sign a well-known name at running back, according to a report from NFL reporter Jordan Schultz.
Schultz reports that Leonard Fournette will visit Orchard Park tomorrow and if all goes well, will sign with the Bills.
Fournette is the former 4th overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2017 NFL Draft. After four years in Jacksonville, he has played the last couple of seasons in Tampa Bay.
He’s been a free agent until now. He is 28 years old and is on the downside of his career, but can still be used in short-yardage situations and is a good pass catcher.
We will see if the signing becomes official tomorrow.
