Looking For A Vaccine? There Are 27,000 of Them Coming to Erie County
If you are still looking for a place to get the COVID vaccine, or if you are newly eligible to get it, there are 27,000 of them coming to Erie County this week.[/caption]
The vaccine for COVID has begun to allow people to get back to at least a little bit of a normal life again. Until we are all vaccinated, we still need to take precautions for others, but at least we can get together with others who are vaccinated without the worry that we might get them sick.
Earlier today, the eligibility for people who are able to receive the vaccine was expanded again to include even more people. It was a huge jump too. The list now includes all people who are 30 years old or older. As of April 6th, the eligibility expands to people 16 or older.
So you can imagine that there will be a long list of people who will be looking to get their shot sooner than later and they will be in short supply. However, according to WIVB, there are a bunch more coming our way.
Here's how the doses will be distributed:
- Pharmacies: 8,600
- Erie County Department of Health: 8,050
- Health care providers: 6,240
- NYS UB South clinic and equity pods: 4,510
It doesn't say if the doses are Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson or a combination of all of them.
