There were over 12,000 people in the state of Maine that have NO kids and NO disabilities, but are on food stamps at the end of 2014. Guess how many there are now?

Many say it's too hard to get a job or there isn't anything out there.

Well, Republican Gov. Paul LePage isn't buying that. In fact, he's sick of it.

Now, there's rules if you want food stamps :

  1. You need to go get a job and work at least 20 hours a week. Somewhere. Anywhere.
  2. If you can't find a job, you need to participate in a work-training program.
  3. If you can't handle the first two options that's fine (we know there's a lack of jobs). But, there's never a lack of volunteer work. So, if they want food stamps you must go volunteer every week.

Those rules went into effect January 1, 2015. How many people are on food stamps now? 2,000.

I think that they're on to something in Maine.
