In a little over two weeks Buffalo will get a chance to show itself off to the country once again.  The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament will be back in town for Rounds One and Two, and this year's Buffalo is the best yet.

Round One games are March 16th, and Round Two games are March 18th at the KeyBank Center in downtown Buffalo.  The last time the Queen City hosted Rounds in this event it was a very different place.  The last few years have seen a rebirth and vibrancy to the city that will be felt by the NCAA Tournament guests.

Several new hotels have opened downtown and in the surrounding areas, and many others have renovated.  There are new dining options at all levels that have popped up as well.  The Harbor Center alone is such a big addition that anyone that was here the last time in 2014 has got to be impressed.

All of our new businesses and venues are gearing up to show off that Buffalo is on the rise and that is exciting.  We are not there yet, we have some more work to do, but the groundwork has been laid and that should be enough to let our temporary guests know this city is legit.  We have it all...with the exception of one glaring thing...efficient transportation.

Buffalo currently holds the dubious distinction of being the largest city in the US without a ride sharing option.  This is standard in every major city, so when the tourists get here they will surely be disappointed with that aspect.  It would be like saying we don't have WIFI.  Come on Buff, what's the deal??  Uber and Lyft is must, make it happen.

The city is working on improving transportation during the tournament, and cab companies are gearing up for the extra load.  Personally I don't think we have enough cabs in the city to handle this, but we will see what happens.

Either way this is a good opportunity for our fair city to show it's greatness.  This is one of the largest sporting events in the country and we will have it here.  Let's do it right and leave our tourists wanting more...next time we will have more rides, baby steps!
