There's many examples on the news of negativity. The old saying is no news on the news is good news. That's just typical when you have to report on breaking events, which many times are just things that don't put you in a good mood.

However, most people are good at heart. There are examples of good news and acts of kindness if you look for them. Many times, you can find them on social media.

If you're on X (formerly Twitter) or TikTok, you may have seen this amazing story circling around the past few days.

It took place in Buffalo with an Uber driver who went far out of her way to make sure someone in need was helped out.

Uber driver Lamiyah Jabbar picked up a woman named Diane, who during their drive opened up about her financial struggles. She was on the way to her job at a local Tim Hortons.

Instead of just dropping Diane off and being on her way to her next fare, Lamiyah decided to help Diane out. She went to the mall and bought Diane a number of clothing items, along with a gift card. She then surprised Diane at the Tim Hortons drive-thru.

This is amazing.

Even if this did not take place in Buffalo, this story still would have touched so many in Western New York. Getting helped like this, without asking for it, is something that will make anyone emotional.

We're all busy and so consumed by our own schedules and stresses, it's easy to forget that there are others out there worse off. Take time to be kind.
