I had the honor of being the public address announcer for the NCAA Tournament in the past and one of the greatest moments in basketball history. It was the last minute of the Duke vs VCU game in the first round in 2007. The arena was packed! Duke was the clear favorite but in true "Cinderella" fashion, VCU was not going to roll over for them.

Living in Buffalo my entire life, I have had the pleasure of watching and being in person for some amazing moments in sports. But this one will have a special place forever. Watching and hearing Duke's Coach K in the final moments was surreal. I was close enough to hear every word he uttered and to see one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all time in that setting, with the pressure on, was simply incredible. The job called for me to be impartial and not "cheer" on the microphone for one team or the other. But as the game came to a close, it was hard not to have an extra energy for the underdogs.
