Remember Luke Bryan's First Rainy Night At TOC 2010?

The 25th Anniversary Taste of Country is coming up with Luke Bryan as our headliner. But do you remember the year that he was here the first time as an opening act?

As we get ready for this year's show, we've been looking back on memories from past shows. This one definitely stands out for us for a couple of reasons. The first was the lineup, which in 2010 looked like this...

Joe Nichols
Rodney Atkins

Trailer Choir started us off with their version of the Star Spangled Banner, and then broke right into some uptempo fun stuff (including their song "Rocking The Beer Gut" which was so much fun). Rodney Atkins came back for the second time in three years, and Joe Nichols made his first (but not last) stop at our show.

People are always surprised to hear, though, that Luke Bryan was not the headliner of this show. While he is a mega-star these days, he wasn't quite yet in 2010. He was still on his way up so he was a supporting act for Billy Currington!

The other factor that year was the rain

This was one of those years where we felt like we were dodging the rain the whole night. We actually got a quick storm that came through fast and furious, but then it cleared out and held off for most of the rest of the night. It actually felt a little muggy for most of it.

The rain started when Luke Bryan was just about finishing up his set. He had just come out with the song "Rain Is A Good Thing" in January of 2010 and it was just raining a little while he sang it. A lot like when Travis Tritt was singing "It's A Great Day To Be Alive" in the rain at the first Taste of Country at the park, people were LOVING IT. It was so fun.

Of course, the rain continued with Billy Currington, and we were able to make it all the way through the show, despite the rain. It's easily one of my favorite memories of the Taste of Country.
