Can you imagine if your dog could talk?  I have often thought about that.  It would be pretty cool if your canine could tell you what they wanted and what they were thinking.

A new book by Jan Bondeson claims that during World War II the Nazis' were performing scientific experiments in hopes of creating a bread of dog that could not only speak but also read and write. The hope was to create a highly intelligent companion for German troops or possibly to free up SS officers who could then do more important work.

Nazis' were very much an animal loving society and there was outrage over what would happen to all the dogs left behind when the Jews were sent to concentrations camps.  How unbelievable is that?

Hitler himself was a dog lover who had two German Shepherds
