New Christmas Tree Trend Makes It’s Way To WNY
It's funny that such a classic holiday like Christmas has trends. But there's no question that things come in and out of style for Christmas too. One of the latest has made it's way to Western New York.
Over the years, we've seen some pretty crazy trends with decorations for Christmas. Remember a few years ago when the upside-down tree was a popular thing? It sounds crazy until you remember that back in the day, instead of Christmas lights, they used to actually light candles on the tree. Yup...open flames...right on your very flammable Christmas tree.
A couple weeks ago I started checking out what could be hot this year when it comes to Christmas Trees. I was expecting something to do with lights or the way they were decorated. Sure enough, we found the one where people have decided to start "dressing" their trees. They're actually putting dresses on them or making them look like dresses.
What I found was an article on the "Sparse Christmas Tree." I didn't think anything of it. We used to call them "Charlie Brown" trees. I honestly thought it was something that people from big cities did. I was wrong. It's a real thing.
This past weekend we went looking for our own Christmas Tree. We went to Agle's Farm market in Eden where we've been going for the past couple of years. It was there that I saw the Sparse tree for the first time. So I asked, "is that the new trend that I've been reading about?"
Evidently people ask for these trees all the time. They like to have room to really show off the ornaments and it gives a more clean look.
I gotta give Agle's credit for having what people are looking for! And yes...they have more than just the sparse trees. We found a perfect tree there again this year.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the "Sparse" tree?
