Ramen lovers, get ready. There are two new restaurants in the works where you will be able to get your ramen in Western New York.

What is ramen?

You may have seen those little packages of noodles that you can get at the grocery store for just a couple of cents and thought that was what ramen was. But it's so much better than that. Ramen at its best is like a hug in a bowl. It's delicious!

It's a Japanese dish that includes broth, noodles, fresh vegetables, and other toppings. They could include anything from a soft-boiled egg, proteins like pork, chicken, beef, tofu, and things like bamboo shoots.

A national ramen chain is planning restaurants in Western New York

Hokkaido Ramen House has signed a lease agreement with Benderson Development to bring two locations to Western New York. They're described as a fast-casual Japanese restaurant. According to Buffalo Business First, all of the broths are made from scratch and each dish is made to order. They've already got 30 locations across the country, and these will be their first locations in Western New York. One will be in Blasdell, the other in Clarence.

  • 3860 McKinley Parkway in Blasdell in the McKinley-Highland West plaza adjacent to Rachel’s Mediterranean Grill
  • 8222 Transit Road in Clarence in the Eastview Plaza next to HomeGoods.

They already have two locations in New York State. One is on Long Island and the other is in Rochester in the Victor Crossing Plaza.

They expect that they should be able to get the Blasdell and Clarence locations open by late this year.
