New York State Has This Many Sunny Days Coming!
There are a few things that we have gotten used to here in New York State. High taxes and a roller coaster of weather in March. There is snow one day and then rain, or even worse, freezing rain the next. You may be using your heat in the car in the morning and windows down by afternoon.
For most who live outside of New York State, their opinion is that it is just a large metropolis filled with cars, buildings and noise. However, once you get outside the city limits, New York State is a pretty incredible place and the scenery is picture perfect.
The truth is, even those of us who have lived here and raised our families in The Empire State get cabin fever this time of the year. The clocks spring forward this weekend and the days get longer. But just how much sunshine can we expect?
THE AVERAGE AMOUNT OF SUN FOR MAJOR CITIES IN NEW YORK
The website currentresults.com has a pretty extensive list that shows the averages of the amount of sunshine for a particular city. According to the report:
Total Days With Sun is a sum of the Sunny plus Partly Sunny days. The rest of the days are mainly overcast, with at least 80% cloud cover. All the numbers are annual averages, made from years of weather watching.
So what can we expect?
This is uplifting considering the bitter cold air seems to have parked itself directly over parts of New York State. However, for those who wanted more snow this winter, it was sort of a bust. Aside from two or three big storms, followed by melting, there hasn't been a great deal of snow to have fun with.
