There are many special occasions that call for Niagara Falls to illuminate in celebration.  The newest special occasion is the birth of the Prince Williams and Kate Middleton's third child this morning.  Its a boy so Niagara Falls will be lit in blue to celebrate. The Niagara Falls Illumination Board will light up Niagara Falls in blue this evening from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. to help mark this special occasion.

All special illumination requests are reviewed and approved by the Niagara Falls Illumination Board, which has financed and operated the “illumination of Niagara Falls” since 1925

Niagara Falls was illuminated in blue to mark the birth of Prince George and illuminated in pink in May 2015, to honor the birth of Princess Charlotte.  This Friday the Maid of the Mist begins it's 2018 summer season so those who take the tour could get an up close look a the illuminated in blue falls.
