It looks like Cheektowaga will be without fireworks this 4th of July. The Cheektowaga Police tweeted out earlier this week that there would be no fireworks and follow up to the story was posted in the Buffalo News as to why. According to the article it was an effort to minimize overtime spending that push the decision all the way to no for the town.

Cheektowaga Supervisor Diane Benczkowski wants to cut overtime across all town departments by 5 percent which means there would not be enough money to fund everything that goes into the fireworks and not just the fireworks themselves.

The town is still holding other 4th of July festivities as listed below! You can also see a full schedule of fireworks all over WNY with the 2017 WNY Fireworks Guide.
