Oh Man, Did Anyone See This In The Paper Yesterday?
LOL
Sad.
Sad, but true.
The Buffalo Sabres lost last night. Again. Making it their 11th straight loss in a row and only garnishing 2 points total from overtime loses in those 11 games. They dropped a game 6-0 to the visiting Washington Capitals. It has been so brutal for Sabres fans, and we are sure the Sabres, too. But, Sabretooth's frustration was even showing last night. He was seen propped up in his seat looking 'miserable' watching the team. You have to check it out, his body language is everything.
Things are so bad over at the team that the Buffalo News posted this. They have regular 'power rankings' list that comes out. Now, lately, Buffalo would be seen at the bottom of the list at #31 because there are only 31 active teams playing in the National Hockey League right now.
The Seattle Kraken, the latest NHL expansion team, who does not even enter the league officially until later this year for the 2021-2022, is ranked higher than the Buffalo Sabres. The 'joke' is that the Sabres are doing that bad.
The Seattle Kraken will begin their draft this July. Kraken will get picks in the regular NHL draft on July 23-24, but general manager Ron Francis is guaranteed to choose in the top six overall. According to NBC, this is how Kraken will stack their team this year. It is a process very similar to what the Golden Knights did as well during their expansion:
Seattle will select one player from each team for a total of 30:
14 forwards
9 defensemen
3 goaltenders
Seattle must choose a minimum of 20 players under contract for the 2021-22 regular season and those with an aggregate Expansion Draft value that is between 60 to 100 percent of the prior season's upper limit for the salary cap. They must also not be bought out from those contracts earlier than summer of 2022.
