When I was a kid, I remember hearing this song about "leaving a hole as big as Texas deep inside" but I was barely too young to know about the artist of the song. I did know I loved it. That song was "All Things Considered" by Yankee Grey.

Yankee Grey was a band, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio that formed in the late 80's. After an executive from Nashville heard them perform in 1997, they signed with Sony Nashville.

"All Things Considered" was released in June of 1999. It peaked at #7 on the Mediabase country chart in December. It reached #8 on Billboard.

Written by lead vocalist Tim Hunt, the song was off their debut album, Untamed.

Two more charting singles were released, including the top 20 "Another Nine Minutes." Unfortunately, Tim Hunt would leave the band after vocal troubles and the band would exit their label. They disbanded after 2002.

No other song sounded like "All Things Considered" at the time. It was so refreshing. The lyrics and melody get stuck in your head so easily.
