It's October of 2003. I'm attending my very first concert at then, HSBC Arena. Shania Twain is the main performer but her opening act, and the first artist I would ever see live, is an unknown James Otto. Dressed in a 00 Bills jersey, he impressed the crowd with his strong vocals.

James Otto's first three singles off his debut album failed to reach the top 30, the notable releases being "The Ball" (#41) and "Days of Our Lives" (#32) in 2002 and 2003.

Fast forward four years later and James would release his single, "Just Got Started Lovin' You" off Warner Bros. Nashville in the summer of 2007. After a slow start, the song caught fire by 2008 and would reach #1 on both the Mediabase and Billboard country airplay charts in May of 2008.

Written by Otto, Jim Femino and D. Vincent Williams, the song would be the lead single off James' Sunset Man album.

Not only did "Just Got Started Lovin' You" reach #1, but it would end up becoming the most played song on country radio in 2008.

Unfortunately, the song would be Otto's only top 10 single. He would chart five more times from 2008-2011, then again in 2015. The highest of the bunch was "Groovy Little Summer Song" (#24) in 2010.

Another fun fact about James is he was a member of the MuzikMafia, a group of singer-songwriters and musicians helped formed by Big & Rich. They helped James between record deals from 2004-2007.
