Orchard Park Parks, Playgrounds, Green Lake Opening Soon

While many of Western New York's public green spaces remain closed due to coronavirus concerns, Orchard Park announced the opening update for their parks, playgrounds and Green Lake Swim Area.

The Orchard Park Recreation Department announced an opening date of June 27 for those facilities in a post on Facebook.

As per the announcement, the Green Lake Swim area will be open weekends only, and will be staffed with a lifeguard.

The beach area will be kept at half capacity -- and the recreation department will create 17 pre-determined areas on the sand, for one family each.

Visitors must follow proper social distancing, and there will be no Quaker Splash, boat rentals or drink sales.
