Popular Santa Land Attraction Returns – But With Changes This Year
Santa Land is returning to Chestnut Ridge State Park this weekend, but there will be some changes in the plans this year.
You may remember Santa Land from years ago. It was an old-school, classic type of Christmas celebration with hayrides, arts and crafts, Christmas refreshments, and of course a visit with the big guy himself - Santa!
Sadly, last year because of the pandemic, the event had to be cancelled altogether. The good news is that this year it's back again with some predictable changes to the setup for everyone's safety.
Santa Land is back, but it will be a drive-thru event this year. If you want to get the family together in the car for a trip through Santa's village, they'll be ready for you this Saturday at Chestnut Ridge State Park from 10 am-4 pm. The gates will close at 3:30 pm though so you're not going to want to be late.
The event is free and you'll never have to even get out of your car. I remember when I was a parent with young kids how hard it could be to get little ones in and out of the car in the winter. This actually sounds like a bit of a blessing. They get to see Santa and never even have to leave their car seats! Just look for the signs from the Newton Street entrance.
They're also encouraging people to bring a toy for the Toys for Tots drive that they have going.
