Rate Increase for Netflix

Get set to shell out more money for your Netflix subscription.  The company says rising costs are to blame for an anticipated $2.00 a month rate hike.

Netflix most popular streaming service allows allows high-def programming on two devices at the same time.  The cost for that service will rise from $11.00 to $13.00 a month.

Over the past few years Netflix has been investing heavily in original programming including movies and multi-episode series.  According to the Associated Press the cost of that investment in 2018 alone was $8-billion.

The rate hike will take effect immediately for new customers.  The increase for existing customers will be phased in over the next couple of months.
