Every month, Cellino Plumbing & HVAC gives $500 to one deserving Western New York non-profit. After gathering submissions and having willing Western New Yorkers vote on the finalists, one organization is highlighted and selected to receive support from Cellino Plumbing & HVAC and, of course, from WYRK.

June's winning non-profit was Tabby Town, a small 501c3 non-profit that operates a cat adoption center and "catique" in McKinley Mall in Hamburg. Over the past 11 years, they've adopted out more than 7,000 cats. Isn't that amazing?

I was fortunate enough to sit down with three Tabby Town leaders to talk about the good work they do for animals in need in our area every day:

This is actually the second month in a row that an animal rescue was honored through Cellino's program, and it's great to hear that they've found an easy way to offer adoption appointments as the coronavirus pandemic continues. Of course, each cat is spayed or neutered and up-to-date on all shots before they become available for adoption, and they come with a certificate for a free vet visit within 30 days of adoption.

Here's a breakdown of adoption fees, as posted on their website:

Aside from adopting a cat, there are a couple ways you can support Tabby Town, too. You can make a donation outright on their website here, or you can get tickets to their Kitten Care Raffle, with prizes such as a television, an air filtration system from Cellino and a vast array of baskets.

Each ticket is $20 and includes 40 chances to win. To learn more and get your tickets, visit tabbytown.org and click on the image in the lower right corner featuring the Kitten Care Raffle.

Now that they've won Cellino's monthly donation, let's see how many other donations we can send their way to support the great work they do!
