With only one win in their last five games the Buffalo Sabres were determined to start fresh after a 10-day break.  And Tuesday night in Columbus the Sabres looked refreshed as they came thru with a 5-4 victory over the Blue Jackets.

Connor Sheary scored early in the third period to break a 4-4 tie and the Sabres held on for the win.  The Sabres twice had two-goal leads, but the Blue Jackets scored three times in the second period to tie the game.

Evan Rodrigues opened the scoring with his fourth goal in four games.  Jeff Skinner scored his 31st of the season.  Tage Thompson and Sam Reinhart also scored while Carter Hutton stopped 33 shots for the victory.

The Sabres are right back at it again Wednesday night in Dallas, then return home Friday for the first of a seven-game homestand.
