The Buffalo Sabres haven't hit the ice for a game since March but they did participate in the 2020 NHL Draft back in October.

The Sabres have a special series called Embedded 2020 and the latest episode featured a behind the scenes look at the Sabres 2020 draft, led by Sabres general manager and Buffalo native, Kevyn Adams.

It was a fun look at what went into picking the hockey players but the one thing I noticed as a country music fan was Adams going out of his way to the camera crew to name-drop lyrics to Chris Stapleton's current single, "Starting Over."

Sabres broadcaster Brian Duff asks Adams on the day of the draft, "was there any particular music you listened to on the way in?"

Adams said:

"In one of the songs that I heard today, the line was something about -- I actually wrote it down 'cause it was good. You know the song 'Starting Over' by Chris Stapleton? It says, "nobody wins that's afraid of losing"...it's just a good line," said Adams.

That's so cool that the Sabres general manager listens to country music and he has great taste because Chris Stapleton rocks!

You can watch the full video below and Adams talks about Chris Stapleton around the 1:57 mark.
