Four games on home ice and the Sabres have lost four of them. Saturday night at First Niagara Center the Sabres gave up two goals in the final four minutes to turn a 2 to 1 lead into a 3 to 2 loss to the Florida Panthers. Jason Pominville's power play goal broke a 1-1 tie with just over seven minutes left but the Sabres again showed they just can't hang on to a lead at home.

The Sabres have had leads in all four of their games at home but have blown every one of them. Last Thursday against Columbus they were able to put together a couple of late goals to beat the Blue Jackets, but they've had no consistency in their play. They're getting very little offense. Their passing has been awful. The Vanek line has been the only one that has shown to be a threat. Vanek scored the other Buffalo goal on a nice wrap around.
The Sabres have spent a lot of money in the offseason, on players, on improvements to the arena and they've certainly created a buzz in town, but Stanley Cup hopefuls? Hardly. The Sabres got off to a poor start on home ice last year and they've torn a page from the same book this year. The Sabres skated off the ice losers again and the booing from the fans let 'em know how they feel.
