The fall is here and baseball season is over. However, there is work happening this off-season to try to score funding for a makeover at Buffalo's, Sahlen Field. The home of the Buffalo Bisons is getting old and some are saying a renovation is way overdue.

Sahlen Field is not only a great place for families to watch baseball, but it is also home to one of the largest concerts in Western New York each summer. The annual Toyota Taste of Country draws roughly 25,000 fans to downtown Buffalo. In fact, there is also work happening to finalize the next big lineup for the popular show for the 2024 concert.

But if you walk into other ballparks across the country, you may see some more modern conveniences that Sahlen Field does not currently have and there are some who are trying to make a change.

Channel 2 in Buffalo is reporting that:

...the Bisons are in preliminary discussions with state officials. The lobbying firm co-owned by former Buffalo mayor Anthony Masiello is in talks with Governor Kathy Hochul's office about renovations to the ballpark which is the oldest non-renovated triple-a ballpark in the country.

It was just a few weeks ago that a fire broke out at Sahlen Field. The home of the Buffalo Bisons and the annual Toyota Taste of Country was caught in flames on Friday. Buffalo FD responded to the call at Sahlen Field. Thankfully, the fire was under control quickly thanks to the hard-working crews in Buffalo. It appears that nobody was hurt in this fire.
