A couple of weeks ago, several Western New York School districts came together and created a survey to find out how parents, teachers, administrators, and students felt about school returning in the fall.

My son Avry just wrapped up his freshman year at Sweet Home and I got the survey which both my wife and I took. People had until June 19th to fill out and submit their responses.

According to WIVB, here is the breakdown of the survey.

  • 68% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that school should resume as normal in September with new procedures to reduce the spread of illness
  • 21.6% agreed or strongly agreed that a hybrid approach (half of the students in school and half remotely learning) should be implemented in September
  • 10% strongly disagreed with the idea of returning to school as normal.

Over 24,000 people took the survey and submitted their responses.
